Freshly picked coffee cherries in a woven basket

Coffee & Tea

Specialty Arabica from the Shan highlands, shade-grown at 1,100 to 1,600 metres and processed washed, honey and natural, with green tea, black tea and pickled tea leaf from the same hills.

For specialty roasters, café groups, tea blenders and green coffee importers in Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia and North America.

Hopong

1,370 to 1,585 metres. Catuai.

The highest of the three regions, on the edge of the Shan Plateau. Bright, layered cups with red fruit and florals, and the season's top-scoring honey and natural lots.

Ywa Ngan

1,220 to 1,370 metres. Catuai.

Clean, refined washed coffees with citrus and stone fruit, grown on smallholder farms in the southern hills.

Pyin Oo Lwin

1,100 to 1,160 metres. SL24, SL28, H528 and T8667.

The historic centre of the region's coffee and home to a large specialty washing station. Rich, sweet cups with caramel, chocolate and stone fruit.

Cool nights, morning mist and deep red loam slow the ripening of the cherry, building density and sweetness. Coffee is grown under a canopy of native pine, silver oak, macadamia and avocado, which extends ripening by three to four weeks.
